Offutt AFB Fire/Crash Rescue Station

Completed: 2004
Construction cost: $7,400,000

Kenneth Hahn Architects, Inc. designed this 36,200 SF fire, crash, and rescue station for Offutt AFB as a Customer Concept Document (CCD) - which is approximately a 15% design. The facility houses 18 apparatus vehicles. Located on the edge of the flight line, all vehicles have direct access to the flight line and to the rest of the base. The facility includes 27 bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, dayroom, a training room, and outdoor recreational areas. Also included is a hose-drying tower, fire equipment area, and Aministration area. Parking and a new access road were also the responsibility of the KHA team. This project is constructed on an apron adjacent to the main runway, serving both aircraft and structures on the base.
