➥ Projects ➥ Offutt Air Force Base - Repair Historic General's Quarters
These historic buildings housing thirteen Senior Officers’ Quarters plus the Visiting Officer's Quarters and several NCO Quarters were renovated in various phases. Occupied by ranking officers and their families stationed at Offutt AFB, the buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. All work was required to be approved by the State of Nebraska Historical Preservation Office. These 1890's buildings are located on the perimeter of the historic Fort Crook parade ground, and are proudly maintained by Offutt AFB. Work involved new roofs, new windows, rebuilding of front porches, basement waterproofing, rebuilding of chimneys, tuck pointing of brick, renovation of fireplaces, bathrooms, attics, HVAC replacement, and renovation of basement stairs. All work required exhaustive on-site research and thorough documentation. The projects were designed to allow resident families to remain in the dwellings throughout construction.
